Fake Alert! JAMB Disowns Scam Website Demanding Payment from 2025 UTME Absentees

A fraudulent website that demands money from applicants who did not take the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) has been alerted to the public by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the spokesperson for JAMB, claims that the bogus website, which goes by the name “Copyrightwriter Personal J Rescheduling Flw,” requests N15,700 from candidates to be deposited into a Sterling Bank account number 8520641017 to allegedly reschedule the missing UTME.

JAMB has said unequivocally that this is a scam and that the perpetrators have no affiliation with the board.

JAMB does not reschedule exams for candidates who miss them for personal reasons, but those whose biometric verification fails during registration will be investigated and, if found eligible, will be rescheduled to take the exam free of charge. Dr. Benjamin also urged Sterling Bank to take action against the fake account and stated that the matter has been reported to security agencies. He cautioned all candidates to exercise caution, stating that JAMB does not charge any additional fees after registration.
