UTME 2025: NSCDC Deploys Officers to Guard JAMB CBT Centres Across Anambra
In anticipation of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which is set to start on April 24, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has stationed officers at all authorized computer-based testing facilities in Anambra State.
This was said in a press release on Wednesday by Edwin Okadigbo, Head, Media and Tactical, Anambra NSCDC, who also mentioned that all 33 CBT centers in the state would have sufficient security guards.
According to Okadigbo, Olatunde Maku, the state commandant, gave the order to deploy people in order to provide protection for the seamless and trouble-free examination throughout the state.
“On Tuesday, at the State Command Headquarters Awka, the State NSCDC chief briefed the area commanders, divisional officers, heads of formations, and composite commanders, stating that the staff would promptly respond to duty calls,” the statement added.
“They will provide security for the critical infrastructure, prevent intrusion of unwanted persons, and uphold the integrity of the examination in all the 33 accredited CBT centers across the state.
He gave staff instructions to get to the centers by 6 a.m. every day, highlighting their crucial role in checking applicants for prohibited items and preserving a calm atmosphere during the test period.
Maku gave them the responsibility of warning the CBT centers’ employees to rigorously follow the rules governing the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board Examination and to perform their jobs with the highest level of professionalism.
He said that the NSCDC state helmsman stressed the command’s intention to detain and prosecute anyone caught in violation of the law while warning against unauthorized individuals lingering around approved CBT exam locations and cautioning applicants against carrying forbidden materials.
