UTME 2025: JAMB Declares — No Candidate Will Write Exam Outside State of Registration!
Candidates have been reassured by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) that no one will be obliged to take the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) outside of their state of registration.
In a phone conversation with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Abuja, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, provided this guarantee.
Due to a shortage of authorized Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers, some candidates were forced to take the UTME mock exam outside of their home state; however, Dr. Benjamin clarified that this was only an exception for the mock session.
“For instance, candidates would be redirected to Nassarawa State if centers in Abuja were full and there were still centers available there,” he stated.
He did, however, guarantee that since all authorized CBT centers will be open, this scenario would not arise during the main UTME.
As additional centers would be administering the exams, Dr. Benjamin said, “This will not happen in the main examination because no candidate will be sent outside their state of registration.”
He also emphasized the significance of early registration in selecting the candidate’s center’s proximity to their home, saying, “Once a closer center was already filled up, the candidate may be assigned any available center within the state.”
