JAMB sets January15-February 26 for 2025 UTME registration, April 18-28 for exam

The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) dates and rules for the 2025 tertiary institution admission exam have been released by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the entity responsible for administering the exam.

Candidates who have finished secondary school and want to be admitted to universities, polytechnics, or educational colleges must take the UTME.

The registration process for the 2025 UTME will start on Wednesday, January 15, and go through Wednesday, February 26, as per UTME, which states that the registration time is typically six weeks.

“All potential applicants who intend to sign up for UTME in 2025 must fulfill the following prerequisites:

To construct a UTME profile and register for exams, candidates need to have an 11-digit National Identification Number (NIN), which may be acquired from any NIMC enrollment center or NIMC mobile app.

After texting your NIN to 55019 or 66019, you will receive a 10-digit code that must be used to generate your UTME profile code.

“To build their UTME profile and receive critical updates from UTME, applicants must have a working phone number. Using the same phone number during the registration and exam periods is crucial.

In order to create their UTME profile and access their registration information, candidates need to have a working email address.

Before registering for JAMB, candidates must have their A’level or O’level (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or GCE) results ready. For those who are still awaiting their results, you can also apply with awaiting results. Before being admitted, you have to upload your final exam results to the JAMB portal.

To register for JAMB, candidates need to have an ePIN. It is available through approved channels such as banks, internet sites, or USSD codes, and it costs N3,500. N700 is required for registration, N1,500 is required for the main UTME exam, and N1,500 is required for the optional mock UTME (if applicable).

A passport photo, biometric verification (thumbprint), and your signature are required, along with other personal information including your name, date of birth, gender, state of origin, local government region, and more.

According to the board, the total registration fee is roughly N6,700 for those who chose to take the mock UTME and N5,200 for the main exam.
