Eligibility for EKSU Post-UTME

Before embarking on your application journey, ensure you meet the eligibility criteria:

UTME Candidates:

  1. Choice of Institution: Made Ekiti State University (EKSU) your first choice during JAMB registration.
  2. UTME Score: Achieved the minimum UTME score for your desired program. Here’s a breakdown:
    • Medicine and Surgery – 250
    • Nursing – 220
    • Law – 240
    • Other EKSU Courses – 140
  3. Lower Scores? Scored lower than the minimum for your chosen course? Don’t despair! You can apply for Post-UTME screening into other eligible programs and adjust your JAMB preference on CAPS (Central Admission Processing System) for consideration.
  4. Change of Institution: Didn’t initially choose EKSU but are ready to switch? You’re eligible for Post-UTME screening if you change EKSU to your first choice on JAMB CAPS and meet the program’s minimum UTME score.
  5. Academic Qualification: Possess at least five (5) credit passes in relevant O’level (Ordinary Level) subjects at not more than two sittings.
    1. Awaiting Results? Hold off on applying until your O’level results are released.
  6. Pre-Degree Concession: EKSU extends a concession to successful graduates of its Pre-Degree program, subject to Senate approval.

Direct Entry Candidates:

  1. Change of Institution: Interested in switching your first choice to EKSU? You can apply for Post-UTME screening by changing EKSU to your first choice on JAMB CAPS.
  2. Minimum Qualification: Possess a minimum of:
    • Upper Credit from a Polytechnic for Engineering programs.
    • Lower Credit from a Polytechnic for other courses.
    • Minimum of Second Class Lower Division in related programs for MB;BS and Law.
    • Registered Nurse (RN) qualification with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria for Nursing Science.
    • NCE (National Certificate in Education) with Credit/Merit in relevant teaching subjects for Education programs.
  3. Transcript Submission: Ensure your transcripts reach EKSU by September 30th, 2024, via email: admissions.registration@eksu.edu.ng. Failure to submit transcripts by the deadline will disqualify your application.

No Exams! A Streamlined Screening Process

Unlike many universities, EKSU will not conduct Post-UTME examinations for the 2024/2025 session. The screening process will be entirely online, focusing on the documents you submit during application.

EKSU Accepts JUPEB, Not IJMB

For Direct Entry applicants seeking admission via JUPEB (Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board), a minimum of seven points is required. EKSU does not accept IJMB (Interim Joint Matriculation Board) qualifications.
