NYCU Spring 2027 Admission for International Students: Apply by 30 September

National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) has opened its Spring 2027 international degree admission exercise. Eligible applicants from Nigeria and other countries can apply for undergraduate, master’s or doctoral programmes through the university’s official international admissions system.

The main admission deadline is 11:59 a.m. on 30 September 2026, Taiwan time (GMT+8). This is a useful opportunity for students who want to begin a degree in Taiwan in February 2027, but applicants should start early because NYCU requires academic documents, recommendations, language evidence and financial proof.

NYCU also provides a scholarship option for new international students. The university’s official information describes possible tuition support and monthly stipends, but awards are subject to selection and programme rules. This should not be treated as an automatic or fully funded award.

The official NYCU admission portal identifies the intake as International Degree Seeking Student Admissions Spring 2027-1. Can Nigerian students apply?

Nigerian applicants may apply as international students if they meet the university’s nationality, academic and programme conditions. Admission is not automatic: NYCU will assess the submitted documents, and some departments may require an interview or additional evidence.

Applicants should check the department list carefully before paying or submitting. NYCU allows an applicant to apply to a maximum of three departments in the same cycle. NYCU scholarship option for new students

The official NYCU scholarship system lists a Spring 2027 new-student scholarship application period from 10 August to 13 November 2026. NYCU’s admissions guidance also tells international applicants to select the scholarship option in the online admission application when they want to be considered.

Depending on the award and the applicable rules, scholarship support may include a tuition waiver or reduction and a monthly stipend. The university’s scholarship FAQ explains that a tuition waiver generally concerns basic tuition and credit fees; it does not automatically cover accommodation, insurance, campus charges, travel or every cost of living in Taiwan. The award is competitive and must not be described as guaranteed funding.

Documents applicants should prepare

The general NYCU guideline requires applicants to upload documents in the required format. A department may request more, so use the programme-specific section as the final checklist.

• Valid passport or proof of nationality.
• Certificate of graduation or an expected-graduation document, depending on the level of study.
• Complete official academic transcripts, including the grading system and, where available, GPA or class-ranking information.
• Two recommendation letters.
• Study plan or other programme-specific statement.
• Financial statement showing at least US$5,000 or NT$150,000 deposited within the previous three months, unless the applicant can provide an applicable government scholarship document.

Documents that are not in English or Chinese may need an accepted translation. Applicants should also confirm whether a department requires a portfolio, research proposal, entrance interview, a particular test or a specific format for recommendation letters.

Application fee and online submission

The general application fee is NT$2,000 per department, although the guideline notes that some colleges may not charge an application fee. Overseas applicants pay by credit card through the online system; the guideline says not to use wire transfer. Application fees are non-refundable.

NYCU reviews applications after the submission period and may contact applicants if a department requires an interview or clarification. Results and scholarship decisions are communicated according to the university’s published schedule. An admission offer is not the same as a visa: successful students must still complete the relevant acceptance, immigration, financial and arrival steps.
