Osun State University (UNIOSUN) has opened its Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session. Candidates who selected UNIOSUN as their first-choice institution, as well as eligible candidates willing to change to the university, can apply through the official admissions portal.
The university’s official notice sets the minimum UTME score at 160 for the general screening exercise. However, candidates applying for Law, Nursing, Islamic Law or Medicine must read the programme-specific restrictions carefully because the university says applicants below 200 will not be considered for those listed programmes. Medicine is also stated to be on hold for the 2026/2027 session.

Who can apply?
UTME candidates who chose UNIOSUN as their first choice may apply if they meet the university’s requirements and scored at least 160 in the 2026 UTME. The notice also allows candidates who did not originally choose UNIOSUN to change their institution on the JAMB platform and then apply for the screening exercise.
That change should be completed before the candidate submits the UNIOSUN application. A candidate should not pay for a school screening form until the JAMB change has been processed and the candidate’s details are correctly reflected. Keep the JAMB change confirmation and every payment receipt.
Direct Entry candidates can also apply, but they must obtain the relevant JAMB Direct Entry form and complete the UNIOSUN screening application. This includes candidates on UNIOSUN’s IJMB or JUPEB programmes who want to be considered for the 2026/2027 admission exercise.
Applicants must be at least 16 years old by 30 September 2026. Candidates who will still be below that age on the date should not apply under this screening notice.
O’Level requirements and programme restrictions
UNIOSUN says candidates must have at least five relevant credit passes in SSCE, NECO or NABTEB at not more than two sittings. The subjects must match the requirements for the chosen programme, so candidates should confirm the course combination before paying.
For Medicine, Nursing, Law and Islamic Law, the notice requires five relevant credits at one sitting. The university also states that candidates who scored below 200 will not be considered for Law, Nursing, Medicine or Islamic Law. Since Medicine is marked as on hold for this session in the notice, applicants should not assume that selecting Medicine on a previous form guarantees that the programme will be available.
Candidates awaiting results should provide the result within one week of its release. All applicants should also upload their O’Level results on JAMB CAPS because UNIOSUN identifies that upload as a pre-condition for admission processing.
How to apply for the UNIOSUN screening
- Confirm your course and score. Check your 2026 UTME score, subject combination, O’Level credits, sitting requirement and age eligibility. Pay special attention to the 200-score rule for Law, Nursing, Medicine and Islamic Law.
- Update your first choice where necessary. If UNIOSUN was not your first choice, use the approved JAMB process to change institution and wait for the change to reflect before applying to the university.
- Open the official portal. Go to admissions.uniosun.edu.ng through the link provided on the university website. Avoid agents, unofficial social-media links and websites requesting your JAMB password.
- Complete the application form carefully. Enter your JAMB registration number, personal details, programme and examination information exactly as they appear on your records. False information can lead to withdrawal of admission.
- Pay through the stated channel. The official notice lists a ₦3,000 portal access fee and a ₦2,000 Post-UTME screening fee, paid through Remita. Confirm the amount and payment page on the official portal before authorising payment.
- Upload or confirm your documents. Ensure your O’Level result is uploaded to JAMB CAPS and provide the documents requested by the university. Direct Entry candidates should arrange their transcripts for delivery to the Registrar by 4 September.
- Submit and print two copies. After submitting the form, print two copies of the completed application form and keep digital backups of the form, payment receipt and any acknowledgement page.
- Monitor the portal. The notice does not provide a separate screening-date timetable in the information reviewed. Keep checking the university portal and official UNIOSUN updates for your screening instructions and any additional notice.
What Direct Entry applicants must do
Direct Entry applicants have an additional transcript obligation. The university says their academic transcripts must reach the Registrar of Osun State University no later than Friday, 4 September 2026. Do not wait until the final day if your institution needs time to prepare and dispatch the transcript.
DE applicants must also obtain the JAMB Direct Entry form and apply for the UNIOSUN screening exercise. Being enrolled in an IJMB or JUPEB programme does not remove the need to follow the JAMB and university processes. Confirm that your qualification is acceptable for the intended 200-level programme before paying.
Fees, payment and scam warnings
The official UNIOSUN notice lists ₦3,000 as the portal access fee and ₦2,000 as the Post-UTME screening fee. The notice says payment is made through the Remita Web Pay platform using an enabled card. These are the stated screening charges only; candidates should not treat them as a complete estimate of future acceptance, school, accommodation or departmental costs.

UNIOSUN, JAMB CAPS and what happens next
UNIOSUN says the 2026/2027 admission exercise will operate through JAMB’s Central Admissions Processing System. Candidates should therefore monitor both the university’s portal and their JAMB CAPS profile after completing screening. Uploading an O’Level result is an important part of the process, but it is not an admission offer by itself.
If an admission offer eventually appears, confirm the institution, programme and admission details before accepting. Candidates should use JAMB’s official e-Facility and CAPS services for admission-status actions and contact UNIOSUN’s Admissions Office if the school and JAMB records do not agree.
Deadline reminder for candidates
The final UNIOSUN form-submission deadline is 12 noon on 17 September 2026. Because the portal may become busy near closing time, applicants should complete payment, document upload and submission well before the deadline. Direct Entry applicants have the earlier transcript deadline of 4 September.
