JAMB Releases 2026 UTME Registration Guidelines
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released comprehensive guidelines for candidates registering for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
As indicated on JAMB’s official X account on Sunday, prospective candidates must verify that all personal information, particularly their National Identification Number, email address, and any A-Level results, are accurate before creating a profile code.
Candidates should send their 11-digit NIN to either 55019 or 66019 using the format NIN 00000011111. Once a profile code is generated, it cannot be altered, as the candidate’s biodata will be automatically retrieved from the National Identity Management Commission database.
After the profile code has been successfully created, applicants must visit the nearest JAMB office or any accredited CBT centre to begin their registration.
The Board also stressed that E-PINs should be acquired exclusively through authorized channels, including banks, certified online platforms, or approved vendors at registration centres.
These guidelines are part of JAMB’s yearly initiative to enhance the UTME process, minimize errors, and combat fraud linked to unlicensed vendors.
Candidates are encouraged to frequently check the official JAMB portal and social media accounts for updates on registration deadlines, examination timetables, and any changes in procedure.
Staying updated helps prevent missed notifications and safeguards applicants against scams, such as buying E-PINs from unauthorized sources.
It is advisable to register early to avoid technical issues and long queues during busy times, ensuring a smoother process and allowing candidates to concentrate on effective preparation for the 2026 UTME.
