OAU Faults Law Firm Over Post-UTME Suit, Outdated NBA Seal

The legal unit of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) has formally addressed the law firm that sent a pre-action notice regarding alleged misconduct in the university’s Post-UTME procedure.

In a response dated October 4, 2025, the Legal Unit pointed out that the correspondence from Kene Nnadi of F.K. Nnadi & Co., based in Enugu State, contained a seal from the 2024 Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), indicating that he has not renewed his practising licence for 2025. The university consequently requested that he confirm his current entitlement to practice in accordance with professional guidelines.

In the letter, which was signed by the Director of Legal Services, Yinka Ayantola, the university stated, “We have noticed that the seal you applied to your letter in question is your 2024 seal. As you know, it is your responsibility to pay your practising fee for 2025 to enable you to operate as a lawyer. Therefore, we are asking you to provide proof of your right to practice for this year as required by the appropriate regulations. I have been instructed by the university to ask you to take the necessary actions.”
