JAMB Sets October Deadline for 2025 University Admissions

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has instructed all public universities to finalize their admission processes by October 31, 2025.

As per the board’s timeline, private universities are expected to complete their admissions by November 30, 2025, while all tertiary institutions, both public and private, must wrap up the process by December 31, 2025, at the latest.

This directive, detailed in JAMB’s weekly newsletter released on Monday, was based on the resolutions made during the 2025 Policy Meeting led by the Minister of Education.

JAMB clarified that this initiative is intended to stabilize the academic calendar and promote equal access to admission opportunities across institutions throughout the country.

“All tertiary institutions are required to finish their admissions within the designated timelines.

“Even if an institution is not prepared to start a new academic session, it must still carry out its admission process and keep proper records,” the board stated.

JAMB also instructed institutions conducting post-UTME screenings to complete them without delay, emphasizing that all admission activities must strictly follow the specified deadlines.
