Learn Africa Rewards 2024 NECO SSCE Top 3 Students

In keeping with its tradition, Learn Africa Education Development Foundation has celebrated the top three candidates of the 2024 National Examinations Council (NECO) Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE), with Emmanuella Adeyemo from Our God Reigns Crystal School, Oju-Ore, Ogun State, being recognized as the overall best and awarded N1 million to aid her educational pursuits.

Nwachukwu Ikechukwu from St. Paul’s Academy, Jos, secured the second position and received N750,000, while Watt Oluwaseun of Crescent International High School, Ogun, took third place and received N500,000.

At the recent award ceremony, Chief Emeke Iwerebon, Chairman of Learn Africa PLC, emphasized the significance of recognizing students’ achievements, stating that the nation requires the intelligence, creativity, and determination of its youth.

He encouraged them not to become complacent, noting that their successes reflect the support of their parents and teachers.

“You have achieved this through long nights of study, perseverance amid difficulties, and unwavering dedication to your objectives. Your achievement today demonstrates that diligence and self-discipline lead to extraordinary outcomes.

“However, let me remind you that this is merely the beginning of your journey; you have distinguished yourselves as the leaders of tomorrow, and with that distinction comes significant responsibility,” he remarked.

Dr. Benjamin Bargu, the acting Director of Southwest NECO Zonal Directorate in Ibadan, praised the initiative, stating, “We are actually here on the invitation of the Registrarship Executive. We wish to show our support for this foundation, which aligns with the mission and initiatives that the registrarship executive has implemented since assuming office.

“They are playing their part in nation-building and inspiring students to work diligently. My message to other corporations is that they should also participate so that we can all elevate education and reward hard work together.”

Emmanuella Adeyemo, the overall best candidate who is currently pursuing a degree in pharmacy at the University of Ibadan, credited her success to the supportive environment at her school.

“The school has a tradition of housing SS3 students in the hostel to ensure proper supervision and reduce distractions. This arrangement allowed me to maintain focus and ultimately achieve 9 As.

“With God’s help, I hope to establish my own pharmaceutical company in the future, producing safe and high-quality medications. I also aspire to engage in research for new drugs that can fight cancer and other terminal illnesses,” she expressed.
