Over 500,000 Students Rush to Apply for NELFUND Loan — Massive Turnout for Education Support!
Through the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) portal, at least 500,000 students have submitted loan applications.
According to NELFUND, the development marks a significant milestone in its inaugural year of operation.
The milestone, which was reached in just 11 months of operation, highlighted the urgent need for easily accessible student funding in Nigeria, according to a statement released by Nigeria Education Loan Fund Director of Corporate Communications, Oseyemi Oluwatuyi.
According to the fund, it also demonstrated the broad confidence in the Nigeria Education Loan Fund’s objective to democratize access to higher education.
For families all around Nigeria, this is a sign of hope, not just a number.
In the release, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, Nigeria Education Loan Fund Managing Director, said, “We are seeing a national demand for the opportunity, and Nigeria Education Loan Fund is proud to be at the heart of this transformation.”
As the process moves on, NELFUND stated it is still dedicated to maintaining openness, accessibility, and effectiveness and urged all parties involved to support the goal of universal access to high-quality education.
