2025 UTME Mock: JAMB to Punish 180 Candidates Over Exam Malpractice Scandal!

On Thursday, more than 211,000 applicants took the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s (JAMB) 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mock exam, which was administered across all of the nation’s approved computer-based tests.

The results of the mock exam will be made public on Friday, according to JAMB Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, who made this announcement while observing the exercise at a CBT center in Bwari, Abuja.

“The findings will be available tomorrow. The outcomes will be available. We are now working on the results for those that were completed, but we would like to compare them to those from the second, third, and so forth batches. And make sure everything is operating smoothly. However, they will have the results by tomorrow,” he stated.

Oloyede explained the UTME Mock’s objectives, stating that they were to assess the board’s preparedness for the main exam and test out novel approaches to enhance the procedure.

“We want to say that everything is going well so far, and the word is mock.” We want to try a few different things. We are improving along with the students’ wisdom.

“Because we are doing certain things to ensure that those things are done. So we are trying to make sure that when we go for the exam, we will have taken experience and taken some lessons from our experience at the mock level. So, so far, so good,” he said.

The Registrar, who said the best way to pass UTME is by studying hard, expressed concerns that some applicants are patronizing rogue websites in order to cheat in the exam, adding that JAMB has also launched a fake website targeting such individuals.

We must inform the pupils that studying is the best strategy for passing the test, especially the UTME. Some fraudulent websites that claim to be able to assist consumers are known to us. It won’t work. Additionally, we launched our rogue website. Additionally, 180 or so pupils have paid as of this morning.

Therefore, such students, since trying to cheat are already against the law. We will thus act decisively with anyone who paid into that account and is

inquiring. Additionally, UTME is not a school-based exam for many universities.

“We register each student separately. For this reason, we advise students not to divulge their registration number. Avoid using a proxy to register.

Never divulge your registration number to third parties. Some of these schools wish to boast that their ten kids scored 280. There was a state where nobody was celebrating since even the governor was misinformed. We are therefore aware of this kind of stuff when people try to take shortcuts. And we’re doing everything we can to prevent it.

There are roughly 180 of them here. And we will take a tough stance against them. Both the UTME and DE results would be canceled,” Oloyede declared.

He cautioned applicants against visiting phony websites and contacting anyone who said they could help them with the test.

Some of them are spending N30,000 on something that would never work. And to some, I grin when I see the people who have given us this money,” he continued.

Remember that the 2025 UTME will start on April 25 at authorized CBT locations nationwide.
