The Nigerian government receives N6 billion from JAMB.<\/h4>\n

On Monday, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board declared that it had transferred more than N6 billion to the Nigerian government\u2019s funds.<\/p>\n

Following the administration of the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, or UTME, the Board said that the development was a component of its operating surplus.<\/p>\n

Under the direction of its registrar\/chief executive, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, JAMB also said that, over the previous seven years, it has given more than N50 billion as an operating surplus to the national Treasury.<\/p>\n

Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB\u2019s Public Communication Advisor, provided newsmen in Abuja with access to the Board\u2019s Bulletin on Monday.<\/p>\n

The Bulletin reports that in 2024, JAMB earned N22,996,653,265.25 in total revenue and spent N18,198,739,362.68 on UTME, examinations, paid service providers, and other expenses, such as personnel claims totaling N2,119,571,022.88.<\/p>\n

According to JAMB, 2024 was a turning point that would allow it to benefit from the numerous changes it had put in place.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is crucial to uphold our commitment to transparency by sharing our financial performance for the year as we reflect on 2024,\u201d it said in part. The Board\u2019s total revenue in 2024 was N22,996,653,265.25.<\/p>\n

The Board sent N6,034,605,510.69 to the government in 2024. The total reimbursement by JAMB would be N9,013,068,510.69 when the number of candidates who benefited in 2024 is multiplied by the N1,500 discount per form for candidates.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
