Number and numeration<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Practise conversion and arithmetic in different number bases. Work confidently with fractions, decimals, ratios, proportions, percentages, profit and loss, simple and compound interest, approximation, significant figures and standard form. For indices, logarithms and surds, learn the laws and simplify before substituting values. Calculate mean, median and mode for raw or grouped data and understand range, variance and standard deviation. For permutation and combination, first decide whether order matters.
