This deadline came after a brief extension, therefore WAEC has stated that no further extension would be granted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This simply means; if you have successfully registered, congratulations. But if you have not registered yet, then you not eligible to write the WAEC 2026 exams. For private candidates (GCE), registration had already closed earlier in January 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With this reality, the focus is no longer on registration. Your main focus should be how to prepare smartly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Why_There_Is_So_Much_Confusion_About_WAEC_2026\"><\/span>Why There Is So Much Confusion About WAEC 2026?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Due to new improvement in the structure of WAEC 2026, there are 3 major reasons why students remain confused: There are three major reasons students are confused:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Introduction_of_CBT_Computer-Based_Testing\"><\/span>Introduction of CBT (Computer-Based Testing)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WAEC is gradually moving into computer-based exams (CBT) in 2026. This means some objective questions will be answered on a computer while Theory and Practicals may be part digital, part written.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WAEC has stated that the reason for this new development is part of the plan to: reduce exam malpractice, improve speed and accuracy of exam results, and align Nigerian examinations with global standards. Despite these reasons, many students are not used to CBT which is fueling the panic among Nigerians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Subject_Naming_and_Curriculum_Changes\"><\/span>Subject Naming and Curriculum Changes<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another major reason for confusion is the restructuring of subjects students will be sitting for. For example: ICT is now referred to as \u201cDigital Technology\u201d. Also, curriculum content has now been updated to reflect modern skills. The problem with this is that many students still do not understand their subject combinations, with many still relying on outdated information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Poor_Information_Flow_in_Schools\"><\/span>Poor Information Flow in Schools<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last but not least, some schools do not properly carry their students along. After this, crosscheck the details. This method is not enough to get you your desired score.
