UTME 2025: JAMB Urged to Station Medical Personnel at Exam Centres for Candidate Safety

A center administrator in Ibadan has appealed for the attendance of medical personnel at the examination centers as the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) activity gets underway on Thursday.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan, Mr. Ayobami Adesiyan, the Center Administrator of the Distance Learning Center at the University of Ibadan (DLC UI), made the call.

Due to the large number of pupils taking the test, Adesiyan requested that first aid and medical emergency workers be stationed at the various centers.

“It would be preferable if JAMB took the initiative to provide a medical emergency response team rather than waiting for an incident to occur,” Adesiyan stated.

However, he said that the exercise had gone well and without any problems at his center.

“Not a single fault exists at all.

He claimed that the reason his center has been successful for so long is that, in addition to hosting the UTME, it also administers other third-party exams.

According to NAN, the exam, which is continuing on its first day, started on time and went smoothly for the candidates.
According to Mr. Segun Olofintuyi, the Center Coordinator of Pefti CBT, 244 out of 250 targeted candidates took the first session, indicating that the exam went well.

“The Local Area Network (LAN) that was used for the examination was operating without any problems.

Additionally, 250 candidates are anticipated for the second session; that covers the first day of the exercise.

He stated that on the following days, there would be three sessions on day two and four sessions on Saturday, the third day.

Olofintuyi stated that JAMB has fulfilled its responsibility by sufficiently preparing for the test.

“Now, the CBT centers must contribute to the work that JAMB has done,” he stated.

According to NAN, attempts to contact JAMB officials were unsuccessful since they claimed they lacked the authority to communicate with reporters.
