Osun Ranks 7th in NECO Nationwide — Governor Celebrates Educational Milestone!

The governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, is thrilled about the state’s rise from 33rd to 7th in the national test rankings.

Olawale Rasheed, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) for Adeleke, affirmed in a statement that the achievement was a significant electoral promise achieved.

According to the statement, Adeleke cited a Standard Educational Performance Ranking of States in the 2024 SSCE report from the National Examinations Council (NECO).

According to the report, Osun was ranked seventh, demonstrating the governor’s dedication to bringing back the high standard of education that the state has enjoyed since its founding in 1991.

Out of 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Osun came in seventh place, after Katsina, Lagos, Kano, Oyo, Benue, and Ogun.

A success rate of almost 71% was achieved by 29,101 out of 41,264 candidates who earned at least five credits, including English and mathematics.

“This performance represents a major improvement in academic results under the current administration and is the state’s best result in 18 years.”

“The report also revealed that female candidates placed sixth with roughly 72 percent success, while male candidates placed 10th nationwide with 69.2 percent success.”

According to Adeleke, additional achievements in tests and contests inside the education sector were in line with the internal performance rating.

He commended stakeholders and Commissioner for Education Dipo Eluwole for their contributions to achieving the administration’s educational objectives.
