NECO 2025: Oyo State Issues Strong Warning Against Exam Malpractice

The Oyo State Government has cautioned all students to avoid any form of cheating during the current National Examination Council examination (NECO).

The chairman of the Teaching Service Commission, Oladipo Olubukola, issued this warning while monitoring various secondary schools across different zones in the state on Wednesday and Thursday.

She urged both teachers and students not to take shortcuts during exams, as this could impede their academic development.

Olubukola additionally encouraged them “to concentrate on their studies, as this will enhance their educational growth in their respective preferred universities.”

The chairman emphasized that the commission is dedicated to maintaining high academic standards through collaboration with relevant authorities and ensuring that strict disciplinary actions are enforced against anyone engaged in examination misconduct.

She stated, “Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration has a zero tolerance policy regarding examination malpractices.”

Olubukola elaborated that the monitoring exercise was carried out to evaluate the conditions during the ongoing NECO examinations in public schools across the state.

In his comments, the principal of Ibadan Grammar School, Ogunleye Biodun, praised Makinde for prioritizing educational development in his administration.

The examination centers that were visited included Ibadan Grammar School, St. Anne’s School, Olubi Memorial Grammar School, and Saint Luke’s College, Ibadan.
