Kano Govt Halts Sanitation Exercise to Ensure Smooth Conduct of JAMB Exams
The Kano State Government has temporarily halted the April 2025 end-of-month cleanliness program to facilitate the ongoing Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exams.
Preventing disruption was the goal, according to a statement from Ismail Garba Gwammaja, Director of Public Enlightenment in the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.
“The suspension is intended to ensure that applicants can take their tests without any obstacles and to avoid any possible disturbances to the examination procedure.
Gwammaja stated that locals have been reassured by Dr. Dahiru Hashim, the Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, that the stoppage is only temporary for this month and that the sanitation exercise will continue in full force across the state the following month, in May 2025.
However, he urged locals to appreciate the reasoning behind this decision and work with the government.
“We will put in endless effort to make sure that our sanitation efforts do not interfere with other significant events in the state because we are dedicated to keeping the environment clean and healthy.”
He advised the locals to stop carelessly disposing of their rubbish while applauding them for their cooperation and understanding with the current administration.
With more than two million applicants registered nationally, the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) has formally begun in Nigeria at authorized Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers.
