Federal University Lokoja Partners Auchi Polytechnic for Distance Learning

The Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has signed a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Auchi Polytechnic, aimed at broadening the university’s academic reach and improving access to quality higher education across its catchment areas and neighbouring states.

The agreement, finalized on December 1, 2025, falls under the purview of FUL’s Directorate of Distance & E-Learning, led by Professor Musa Adeku Ibrahim. The partnership seeks to establish new academic centres designed to enhance educational opportunities for grassroots communities.

The signing ceremony was officiated by FUL’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, and the Rector of Auchi Polytechnic, Dr. Salisu Shehu Umar. Professor Akinwumi expressed his enthusiasm about FUL’s growing prominence in Nigeria’s higher education sector, commending his team for their dedication in advancing the university’s mission.

Other key officials present included FUL’s Registrar, Dr. Rebecca Okojie; Bursar, Mr. Shilo John Sule; and Legal Officer, Mrs. Amina Aliyu Ahmadu, who ensured all documents met legal and regulatory standards.

This strategic collaboration highlights FUL’s commitment to fostering inter-institutional partnerships, promoting academic excellence, and expanding educational opportunities for students through distance and e-learning programmes across the region.
