All Set! JAMB Declares Full Readiness for 2025 UTME — What Candidates Should Know

Beginning on Thursday (tomorrow), the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has stated that it is fully prepared to administer the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) throughout Nigeria without any problems this year.

There will be at least 2 million candidates for the one-week exam, which will be held in 887 locations around the country.
Over 10,000 officials have been sent out nationwide for the exercise as well.

At an online media dialogue hosted by the Education Writers’ Association of Nigeria (EWAN) on Wednesday evening, Dr. Benjamin Fabian, Head of Public Affairs and Protocol at JAMB, provided this guarantee in an effort to raise awareness of the procedure among candidates and other stakeholders.

According to Fabian, JAMB assigned candidates to exam centres based on their choice of exam locations during registration and no applicant was taken outside their preferred towns.
He explained that only when the available centers are full at the time of registration may a candidate be taken outside of the exam towns they have chosen, which would be the closest one.
Additionally, each applicant should be aware that their exam number, question types, and other information are typically associated with their exam towns. JAMB will never send any candidates outside of their selected exam towns because doing so will be detrimental to them.

He also clarified that the exam body had fully taken into account candidates with special needs by offering them free exam registration as well as any necessary accommodations, food, and transportation for those who require these during the exam. He added that candidates are always encouraged to arrive at exam locations early in order to allow time for biometric screening and to unwind for a few minutes before their papers, stating that the first paper is scheduled for 8 a.m. rather than 6.30 a.m. as many people in the nation have been led to believe.

Fabian however, pointed out that the technical problems noted during the recent mock exam which he stated intended to assess the preparedness of the exam body and also get participants familiar with CBT exam method have all been fixed and hence nothing to worry about.

EWAN chairman Mr. Mojeed Alabi emphasized the significance of the discussion in his opening statement, stating that “UTME is very important as it is an entrance exam for further studies in the country and involves millions of students.”

In order to jointly advance the education sector and the nation’s economy, he stated that EWAN would keep bringing educational issues of public concern to the forefront as they emerge.

He praised the spokesman for JAMB for making the time to participate in the discussion.
