About the University
In Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria, there is a polytechnic called the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti (FEDPOLYADO). Currently serving as Rector is Engineer Dr. Temitope John Alake. Situated in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria, the school is situated along Ijan Ekiti Road.
In January 1977, the College of Technology in Jos, Plateau State, opened its doors to 350 students pursuing national diplomas. In 1979, it became a polytechnic after the government moved it to Akure, Ondo State, the following year. It was relocated once more to Ado Ekiti, Akure, in 1982, where the Federal University of Technology now stands. More than 10,000 full- and part-time students and about 1,500 employees were enrolled as of 2016.
