JAMB has published a fresh public CAPS dashboard snapshot for the 2026/2027 admission cycle. The dashboard displayed a cumulative admissions summary of 247,428 as of Thursday, 10 September 2026. It also recorded 10,569 admissions approved for candidates’ acceptance that day across all institutions.
The figures are useful evidence that the admission process is moving, but they are not a list of successful candidates. Your own result can only be confirmed from your personal JAMB e-Facility and CAPS profile, together with any official admission portal used by your institution.

10,569 admissions were approved for candidate acceptance
Under the dashboard’s daily movement section for all institutions, CAPS showed:
- 7,825 candidates at the institution-head recommendation stage;
- 3,618 records on the desk-officer table;
- 10,569 admissions approved for candidates’ acceptance; and
- 6,667 admissions accepted by candidates.
The same page separately showed new arrivals for private institutions, public colleges of education and polytechnics: 3,055 for institution-head approval, 1,394 for desk-officer approval, 3,310 for candidate acceptance and 1,860 accepted by candidates.
These are workflow figures, not a guarantee that every candidate in the national total has received an offer. An institution still has to recommend a candidate, JAMB has to process the record through CAPS, and the candidate must see and accept the specific offer on the personal profile. The public dashboard therefore gives national context; it does not replace status checking.
What candidates should do now
1. Check your personal CAPS status
Go to the official JAMB e-Facility portal, sign in with the details linked to your 2026 UTME or Direct Entry record and open the CAPS or admission-status area. Use the official JAMB address rather than a link forwarded by an agent or social-media account.
If your status is still “Not Admitted”, “Admission in Progress” or another pending message, do not treat the national figure as proof that your offer is already available. Institutions may send recommendations in batches. Continue checking the profile and your institution’s official admission page.
2. Accept an offer only after checking the details
When an admission offer appears, read the institution and programme carefully before selecting the acceptance option. Confirm that the course displayed on CAPS matches the offer communicated through the institution’s official channel. Save or print the admission evidence after accepting it.
JAMB’s official website also lists CAPS as the central admissions-processing system and provides links to the e-Facility and support channels. Candidates who cannot access the acceptance option should document the error and use JAMB’s official support route or visit a JAMB-accredited CBT centre for help.
3. Confirm that your O’Level result is uploaded
An admission recommendation can be delayed if the required WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or other recognised O’Level result is missing from the JAMB record. Check the result-upload status on your profile. If an update is required, use the approved JAMB process and keep the acknowledgement or evidence of the transaction.
Do not pay an unofficial intermediary to “activate” CAPS or guarantee admission. JAMB’s dashboard is a processing report; it does not authorise anyone to sell an admission slot.
Does 247,428 mean 247,428 students have finally resumed?
No. The number is the dashboard’s cumulative admissions summary and combines records at different stages: recommendations, desk-officer processing, approvals and candidate acceptances. It should not be interpreted as the number of candidates who have completed clearance, paid school charges or resumed on campus.
Similarly, the 10,569 figure is labelled “approved for candidates acceptance.” It indicates records at an important CAPS stage, but each affected candidate must still log in personally, confirm the offer and complete the next instruction shown by JAMB and the institution.
JAMB’s current admission-score context
On its official website, JAMB states that the 2026 policy meeting approved minimum tolerable scores of 150 for universities and colleges of nursing, and 100 for polytechnics, monotechnics, colleges of agriculture, colleges of education and innovation enterprise institutions. These are national minimums, not automatic departmental cut-off marks. A school or programme may require a higher score, a screening result, specific O’Level subjects or other conditions.
Candidates should therefore avoid comparing their score with the national dashboard totals alone. Check the admission requirements published by your chosen institution and programme, then confirm the individual CAPS decision.
